Adopted Into THE Family

First off, sorry for taking forever to write a new post. I have been so incredibly busy and have not had time to sit down and write. However, yesterday a dear friend of mine told me to watch a video on Youtube called "Lucy Lane's Gotcha Day" and I was in awe. In awe of a Father who loves unconditionally. Adoption, is one of the neatest things in the world to me and I have always had a passion for children. My family adopted a child about 5 years ago from Compassion International and it has truly been a blessing to my family. When we got our little boy, I really didn't understand how there could be days where he had nothing to eat or drink, but now I am beginning to understand. We are some of the most fortunate people and most times we crave/desire for more. From watching this video all I could think about was the kids in Ethiopia who are rocked and raised on the streets.Statistics show that 1 out of 10 children around the world do not see their first birthday. It was PURE JOY when I saw this family welcome Lucy Lane into their own. As the day went on, I realized I am a lot like Lucy. A girl who was thrilled to be "adopted," by a Heavenly Father. A girl who is weak, but he continuosly is strong. Adoption can be a very long process, but thank the Lord that it doesn't take any time to be adopted into THE family. Although some of us don't have the funds or ability to adopt a child, we still can make a difference in someone's life. Whether it be through sending money and letters to a child through Compassion International or just helping someone out that you know needs support. God will use you in a crazy way and will make you FOREVER JOYFUL!

"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."
James 1:27

"Father to the fatherless, defender of widows — this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families."
Psalms 68:5-6
